Once again thanks for your comments. I agree with you that most people in the world would relish a political system that granted freedom to each individual. As a matter of fact, I think I already implied that when I mentioned that one of China’s problems during the transformation from the mid-20th century to the mid-21th century is the transformation “From a country where the press and other mass media, and individual freedom are tightly controlled by the central government to one with more decentralized regulation and more importantly much more freedom for the press and for individuals.” However, the point of this article is that the method of transformation, the speed of that transformation, and the details of the final state could be different for countries with different environments and different initial conditions.
